When your employment at Equinor ends

When you leave the company, you also go out of the health insurance you have been in. In other words, you lose a good insurance. The insurance will expire on the day you end in the company.

However, you are entitled to purchase a corresponding health insurance privately. If you order your health insurance within two months after you have left the company you will still be insured. Note that some cover items will not be included in your continuation insurance.

Why is this important?

If you have been diagnosed during the time you were employed, this will be covered regardless of whether you buy a continuation insurance or not. However, if you exit Equinor's health insurance and do not purchase a continuation insurance within two months, diagnoses that have occurred after the 2 month period will not be covered

If you have been diagnosed during the time you were employed, any treatment of this will still be covered by your private insurance, if you order the insurance within two months of your last working day.

However, if you step out of the health insurance you had when you were employed and buy a new private insurance later, it may be that the diagnosis is not covered by the new insurance.
